Optronics International announced the introduction of its new 1 1/4-in. MCL16 LED Marker/Clearance Light.
Timpte Inc. will be the first to use the new light on their dry bulk commodity trailers and Optronics lighting will now come standard across the board on all Timpte trailers, including the 2022 Super Hopper model trailers.

Timpte focuses on designing and building lightweight, dependable, customized trailers, and is the best-selling dry bulk commodity trailer manufacturer in North America, according to an announcement. The company specializes in agriculture, fertilizer, energy and aggregate sectors, and some of their trailers feature as many as 102 marker/clearance lights for enhanced style and safety.
The 6-diode MCL16 Series lights are hard wired and include separate grounding wires and a PVC grommet. Dual-function models are available for supplemental stop and turn functions. MCL16 Series lamps include models featuring a yellow lens, a red lens, a clear lens that is yellow when illuminated and a clear lens that is red when illuminated.
“Timpte started shipping trailers with Optronics LED lighting in March of this year,” says Hester. “The move to Optronics’ LED lights will make Timpte trailers more visible and, because Optronic LED lights commonly have life spans of between 50,000 to 100,000 hours, those who purchase and own Timpte trailers won’t have to worry about lighting issues.”
The lamp’s lens and housing are made of polycarbonate material that is sealed and waterproof. The lamp employs a solid-state, surface-mount device design that protects its electronics against moisture, shock and vibration. Like all LED products from Optronics, these lamps come with no-hassle, one-diode lifetime warranty protection that will replace the lamp if even one diode fails, the company says.
Some versions of the new 1 1/4-in. MCL16 LED Marker/Clearance Light are in stock now, and all are expected to be in stock and available for shipping by the end of the second quarter of 2021.
