Fontaine debuts heavy-, severe-duty fifth wheel lines

Fontaine Fifth Wheel

Fontaine Fifth Wheel has launched a new line of fifth wheels for heavy- and severe-duty applications.

According to Fontaine, the new 7000 Series heavy-duty models handle 55,000 lb., vertical load and up to 140,000 lb. GCW. The H7 Series severe-duty models handle 70,000 lb., vertical load and up to 180,000 lb. GCW. If your heavy or severe-duty application requires a no-tilt feature you will really appreciate this new design, the company says. Mounting brackets are available in a wide variety of sizes in both stationary and sliding configurations.

All of these models include integrated bracketry systems that accept Fontaine KIT-NO-TILT. Adding this bolt-on kit converts the fifth wheel to a no-tilt model for frameless dump applications. The no-tilt mechanism is very easy to operate and built tough to withstand severe-duty applications. The kit can be spec’d first-fit or users can retrofit the kit in the aftermarket to Fontaine PMH, PMX, HDS and HDI mounting brackets. Both 7000 Series and H7 Series top plates integrate seamlessly with the new heavy and severe-duty brackets and work well with KIT-NO-TILT, the company adds.

“We’re really proud of the Fontaine Sales and Engineering teams that made this happen,” says Paige Petroni, vice president of sales and marketing. “Thanks to this innovative design, gone are the days of hassling with heavy devices to engage or disengage a no-tilt fifth wheel; we make it easy,”
