Palfinger launches new line of truck-mounted forklifts

A new FHS Series forklift from Palfinger

Palfinger rolled out a new line of truck-mounted forklifts, the FHS series, that can lift 5,500 pounds.

Palfinger says the series features 10-foot and 12-foot masts and comes in four configurations, standard, standard reach, four-way and four-way reach. The exterior has higher ground clearance, a lower profile engine hood, powder-coated chassis and contemporary styling. Inside, it has a swivel seat assembly with 25-degree outward rotation, increasing access when entering and exiting the machine. There is also an integrated side guard that provides the operator with extra protection, the company says.

All models come with the Palfinger Ground Control System which allows the operator to mount and dismount the forklift from a truck or trailer without climbing on.

Reach models extend the forks forward to the centerline of the trailer while the mast remains against the side of the truck or trailer. This allows the operator to lift full-capacity loads at maximum reach while retaining the ability to tilt and side shift, Palfinger says.

The FHS 55 Four-Way Reach also has steering that can be switched to the front wheels to enable sideways driving, the company says.
