HD Group has a new fluid diagnostics kit, No. 3400, that can show the conditions of fluids, including brake fluid, power steering fluid, transmission fluid, gear lube, motor oil, antifreeze and DEF.
The kit uses test strips and test paper to provide results, and they are designed to be photographed and uploaded as a permanent digital inspection record. The kit's results verify within 120 seconds of testing. HD Group can also offer the kit in a private branded version.
These test strips and test paper, utilized as part of the inspection process, show the condition of the important fluids. The special diesel motor oil test can determine how much grime, the condition, water or fuel that is in the oil. It is also designed to be photographed and uploaded as a permanent digital inspection record.
HD Group is now offering the HD Vehicle Inspection Kit (HDVIK) in a private branded version if needed. All lubricants contain additives that inhibit breakdown. As these additives become depleted, the fluid degrades and is no longer able to perform its intended function, the company says. The amount of wear metals in the fluid is the biggest contributor to the fluid needing to be changed.
These kits are a tool that provide a measure of additive depletion to the level of sludge and/or the wear metals in the fluid. These come packaged 12 kits to a box, HD Group says.
