Truck-Lite is shining a light on the future — and the highway — this week during ATA's Technology & Maintenance Council (TMC) Annual Meeting in Nashville.
In addition to launching its new 34 Series 1.25 in., round LED marker and clearance light for specialty trailer applications, the company also introduces its ‘BrightFuture LED Initiative.’ This ambitious program marks a significant commitment focused on converting older technology products to the more sustainable LED technology, and will deliver numerous benefits to the trucking industry and the environment, the company says.
“We are thrilled to introduce the ‘BrightFuture LED Initiative’ as a key step in our ongoing efforts to innovate and improve the safety and efficiency of our products,” says Jon Stineman, president at Truck-Lite. “This initiative shows our dedication to not only advancing technology but also fostering a more sustainable future for the industry.”
Truck-Lite says benefits of the new initiative include:
- Enhanced Safety: LED lighting provides superior brightness and improved visibility, significantly reducing driver fatigue and risk of accidents while enhancing driving conditions in all environments.
- Increased Durability: LED lights are engineered to endure the tough conditions of the road, including vibrations, shocks, and extreme temperatures, ensuring longer-lasting performance.
- Energy Efficiency: LEDs are more efficient compared to incandescent bulbs, resulting in lower power consumption and reduced strain on a vehicle’s electrical system.
- Extended Lifespan: LEDs have a longer lifespan than incandescent bulbs, reducing the frequency of replacements, thereby cutting maintenance costs and vehicle downtime.
- Sustainability Benefits: LEDs are made from recyclable, non-toxic materials and can be recycled, unlike incandescent bulbs where the recyclable material amount is too small and too difficult to separate. The ability to recycle LEDs can minimize the release of hazardous substances into environment, protecting ecosystems and lowering our carbon footprint.
One of Truck-Lite’s first transitioning products is the 14 Series 2 in. by 3 in., marker and clearance light. The original incandescent 14 Series light (14200R & 14200Y) was very popular among utility and recreational trailers, and other body market applications and its upgrade to LED do not disappoint. New LED part numbers include: 1450 (red) and 1450A (yellow), the company says.
Also this week Truck-Lite introduces the 34 Series 1.25 in., round LED marker and clearance light, developed to support industry demand for a more robust trailer solution.
Truck-Lite says the new lamp features a sleek, modern and convenient-sized design, while offering an enhanced light output and larger diameter for easier installation and wiring. Available in red and yellow, single or dual function, as well as a clear lens option for a more unique look.
The new lamp will be available in the coming months as a factory or retrofit option.
