The new electric modules are available in 2.5 or 4.0 kW sizes, and each module uses multiple heater coils with two-stage heating control to provide temperature control and energy efficiency. The heaters also comes with a Qt electronic control, which Dometic says automatically throttles back heat and power consumption as inside air approaches set-point temperature.
“We have developed these new heat modules in response to requests from trucking fleets operating in very cold regions, such as northern Canada and Alaska, where sub-zero temperatures are common,” says Lou Siegel Dometic spokesman. “We have drawn on our more than 50 years of experience in HVAC technology to bring to market a flexible and reliable system for these extreme low-temperature conditions.”
