The following safety recalls were issued Monday by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA):
- Autocar is recalling certain 2022 ACX (Xpeditor) trucks. The tie rod clamps may have been improperly heat-treated, causing them to fail and allowing the tie rods to separate. Separated tie rods can result in a sudden loss of steering, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says potentially 236 units are affected by the recall.
- Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) is recalling certain 2020-2023 Thomas Built Saf-T-Liner HDX school buses. The rear exterior side-body panel was manufactured with insufficient joint strength. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number (FMVSS) 221, "School Bus Body Joint Strength." A school bus panel with insufficient joint strength may separate during a crash, increasing the risk of injury. NHTSA says potentially 1,259 units are affected by the recall.
- Ford Motor Company is recalling certain 2022-2023 Bronco Sport and 2022 F-150 vehicles. The parking lights may flicker when the headlights are activated. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of FMVSS number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment." Flickering parking lights can reduce visibility, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says potentially 86,050 units are affected by the recall.
- Ford Motor Company is recalling certain 2022 F-150 vehicles. The right-side instrument panel cover may have been manufactured incorrectly, which can cause the air bag to not deploy as intended. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of FMVSS 208, "Occupant Crash Protection." During air bag deployment, the air bag cover my break and project fragments into the vehicle, or the air bag may deploy improperly, increasing the risk of occupant injury. NHTSA says potentially 74 units are affected by the recall.
- Navistar is recalling certain 2018-2021 International HV, 2018-2020 International HX, 2018-2019 International LT and International RH vehicles. The connecting rod wrist pin may crack, resulting in connecting rod failure. Connecting rod failure can cause an engine shutdown, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says potentially 6,883 units are affected by the recall.
- Nikola Corporation is recalling certain 2022 Tre BEV vehicles. The seat belt shoulder anchorage assembly may have been improperly installed. An improperly installed seat belt can detach during use, increasing the risk of injury during a crash. NHTSA says potentially 93 units are affected by the recall.
- Prevost Car is recalling certain 2021-2023 Prevost X3-45 Commuter motorcoaches. The driver's seat is equipped with a Type 1 seat belt instead of the correct Type 2 seat belt. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of the FMVSS number 208, "Occupant Crash Protection." An incorrect seat belt may not adequately protect the driver during a crash, increasing the risk of an injury. NHTSA says potentially 255 units are affected by the recall.
- Winnebago Industries is recalling certain 2019-2023 Winnebago Travato motorhomes. The retractable awning may extend unintentionally during transit. An awning that extends during transit, may become a distraction or road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says potentially 6,540 units are affected by the recall.
- Winnebago Industries is recalling certain 2022-2023 Winnebago View, Era, and Itasca Navion motorhomes. The retractable awning may extend unintentionally during transit. An awning extending unintentionally during transit may become a distraction or road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says potentially 1,622 units are affected by the recall.
