The following safety recalls were issued Monday by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA):

  • E-One Incorporated is recalling certain 2024 Commercial, Cyclone N, Typhoon N, and Typhoon EV vehicles equipped with Hercules HC 1.7 multiplex nodes. In the event of a short circuit or wiring failure, the firmware in the node may fail to shut off the output pin, resulting in overloaded electrical circuits. Overloaded electrical circuits can overheat, increasing the risk of fire. NHTSA says potentially 22 units are affected by the recall.
  • Navistar is recalling certain 2025 International LT vehicles. Two wires in the taillight jumper harness may be reversed, causing the turn signal to activate in the opposite direction of what the driver intended. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment." Turn signals that do not function as intended may confuse other road users, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says potentially 38 units are affected by the recall.
  • Paccar is recalling certain 2021-2024 Peterbilt 348, 365, 367, 389, 535, 536, 537, 548, 567, 579, Kenworth T180, T280, T380, T480, T880, W990, and 2021-2025 T680 trucks. The right-hand gear shifter stalk connectors may have been improperly crimped, resulting in a loss of communication. A loss of communication between the gear shifter and the transmission may result in the vehicle becoming disabled after coming to a stop, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says potentially 116,343 units are affected by the recall.
  • Spartan Fire is recalling certain 2023-2024 Gladiator, MetroStar, 2024 Commercial, FC-94, and KME Panther trucks equipped with Hercules HC 1.7 multiplex nodes. In the event of a short circuit or wiring failure, the firmware in the node may fail to shut off the output pin, resulting in overloaded electrical circuits. Overloaded electrical circuits can overheat, increasing the risk of fire. NHTSA says potentially 42 units are affected by the recall.
