The following safety recalls were issued Monday by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA):
- Ford Motor Company is recalling certain 2021-2024 Bronco Sport and 2022-2023 Maverick vehicles previously repaired incorrectly under recall number 24V-267. The body and power train control modules may fail to detect a change in the 12-volt battery state of charge. An undetected low battery charge can result in a loss of electrical accessories such as hazard lights, or cause a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 12,833 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Ford Motor Company is recalling certain 2025 Super Duty F-250, F-350, and F-450 vehicles. The steering column shifter may have been improperly welded and detach from the steering column. A detached shifter will prevent the driver from shifting into park, which can result in a vehicle rollaway and increase the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 11,745 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Ford Motor Company is recalling certain 2021 F-150 vehicles previously repaired incorrectly under recall number 22V-188. The Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) for low transmission fluid pressure may falsely activate and cause the transmission to unexpectedly shift into neutral. An unexpected shift into neutral will cause a loss of drive power and increase the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 567 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Ford Motor Company is recalling certain 2022-2023 Transit vehicles previously repaired incorrectly under recall number 22V-791. The heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) system's controls, including those for defog and defrost, may become inoperative. Loss of the ability to control the defrost or defog function decreases the driver's visibility under certain driving conditions, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 471 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Forest River is recalling certain 2025 Nightfall travel trailers and XLR Toy Hauler fifth wheel trailers. The breakaway switch may be incorrectly wired and fail to activate the trailer brakes during an emergency. Trailer brakes that fail to activate increase the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 120 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Tesla is recalling certain 2024-2025 Cybertruck vehicles. The cant rail, a stainless-steel exterior trim panel, can delaminate and detach from the vehicle. A detached panel can become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 46,096 units are potentially affected by the recall.
