The following safety recalls were issued Monday by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA):
- Big Tex Trailer Manufacturing is recalling certain 14RB, 14RD, 16RB, and 16RD trailers. The winch mounting hardware may be undersized and allow the winch to detach from the winch mount. A winch that detaches can result in falling cargo, creating a road hazard and increasing the risk of a crash or injury. NHTSA says 48 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Daimler Vans USA is recalling certain 2024 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vehicles. The parking brake cable bracket welds may fail and disengage the parking brake. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 105, "Hydraulic and Electric Brake Systems." Parking brake failure can result in a vehicle rollaway, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 88 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Ford Motor Company is recalling certain 2021-2022 F-150, 2022 Maverick, Expedition, Lincoln Navigator, F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550 vehicles previously repaired incorrectly under recall number 22V-193. Due to a software error, a towed trailer equipped with an electric or electric-over hydraulic brake system may not brake. Loss of trailer brake functionality can extend the distance required to stop, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 10,627 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Ford Motor Company is recalling certain 2022-2024 F-150 Lightning battery electric vehicles. A manufacturing defect in the high voltage battery cells may result in an internal short circuit. A battery short circuit increases the risk of a fire. NHTSA says 950 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Ford Motor Company is recalling certain 2023 F-Super Duty F-250, F-350, and F-450 vehicles previously repaired incorrectly under recall number 23V-573. The default rearview camera image may not be displayed when using the Pro Trailer Hitch Assist feature. An incorrect rearview camera image can reduce the driver's view of what is behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash or injury. NHTSA says 355 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Jayco is recalling certain 2025 Jayco Eagle fifth wheels, Eagle HT fifth wheels, and Eagle HT travel trailers. The certification label states incorrect tire load and tire size information. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of 49 CFR Part 567, "Certification." Incorrect tire information could result in the wrong tires being installed on the trailer, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 129 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Motiv Power Systems is recalling certain 2017-2020 E-450 and F-59 vehicles with Gen 4 EPIC powertrain, 2020-2023 E-450, F-59, and F-53 vehicles with a Gen 5 EPIC powertrain, and 2023-2025 Motiv F-59 and F-53 vehicles with a Gen 6 EPIC powertrain. A throttle position sensor (TPS) power wire connector pin may loosen, causing a loss of signal to the powertrain control module and a loss of drive power. Loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 222 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Motiv Power Systems is recalling certain 2017-2020 E-450 and F-59 school buses with Gen 4 EPIC powertrain, and 2020-2023 E-450, F-59, and F-53 school buses with a Gen 5 EPIC powertrain. A throttle position sensor (TPS) power wire connector pin may loosen, causing a loss of signal to the powertrain control module and a loss of drive power. Loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 40 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Orange EV is recalling certain 2023-2024 HUSK-e XP terminal trucks. The rear Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) on the federal placard is incorrect and the installed tires and rims may be inadequate for the truck's intended use. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of FMVSS number 120, "Wheels and Rims - Other Than Passenger Cars." An incorrect GAWR and an inadequate tire and rim combination can lead to unintentionally overloading the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 24 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- REV Recreation Group is recalling certain 2022-2025 Fleetwood Bounder, Flair, Fortis, Holiday Rambler Admiral, Invicta, Vacationer, 2023-2025 Fleetwood Flex, Holiday Rambler Eclipse, and 2022-2023 Fleetwood Southwind motorhomes. The engine exhaust tip may detach, allowing exhaust fumes to enter the cabin. Exhaust fumes inside the cabin increases the risk of injury or death from carbon monoxide poisoning. In addition, a detached exhaust tip can become a road hazard for other road users, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 2,666 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Vermeer Manufacturing Company is recalling certain 2020-2025 LPSDT, LPSGT, and LPXDT vacuum excavator trailers. The trailer frame may crack or break, reducing the trailer's stability while being towed. Trailer instability can cause a loss of control, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 464 units are potentially affected by the recall.
