The following safety recalls were issued Monday by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA):

  • Forest River is recalling certain 2017-2025 Coachmen Catalina and 2020-2025 Aurora travel trailers. The Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) on the Federal placard may exceed the safety chain rating. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) numbers 110, "Tire Selection and Rims" and 120, "Wheels and Rims - Other Than Passenger Cars." An incorrect weight rating may lead to unintentionally overloading the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 1,767 units are potentially affected by the recall.
  • Forest River Bus is recalling certain 2024 Starcraft Allstar Transit buses. The handle for the emergency exit window may not be visible to someone standing in the aisle, which can delay passengers from exiting in the event of an emergency. A delay in exiting the vehicle during an emergency increases the risk of injury. NHTSA says 41 units are potentially affected by the recall.
  • Keystone RV Company is recalling certain 2024-2025 Outback 330RL travel trailers. The side window was incorrectly labeled as an emergency exit, which can delay passengers from exiting in the event of an emergency. A mislabeled window that will not allow passengers to exit in an emergency increases the risk of injury. NHTSA says 100 units are potentially affected by the recall.
  • Shyft Group is recalling certain 2022-2025 Spartan RV Chassis K2 vehicles equipped with Cummins L9 diesel engines. The remote fuel filter hose may separate from the fitting, causing a fuel leak and an engine stall. A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire. An engine stall increases the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 85 units are potentially affected by the recall.
  • Volvo Trucks North America is recalling certain 2023-2025 New VN trucks. The brakes may take longer than expected to activate. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of FMVSS number 121, "Air Brake Systems." Delayed brake activation can extend the distance required to stop, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says eight units are potentially affected by the recall.
