The following safety recalls were issued Monday by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA):
- Ford Motor Company is recalling certain 2025 F-550 SD, F-450 SD, F-350 SD, and F-250 SD vehicles. The brake booster pushrod retaining spring may not have been installed, which can allow the pushrod to disconnect from the brake pedal and cause a sudden loss of brake function. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) numbers 135, "Light Vehicle Brake Systems" and 105, "Hydraulic and electric brake systems." A sudden loss of brake function increases the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 2,345 units are potentially affected by the recall and has issued a "Do Not Drive" warning for those units.
- Ford Motor Company is recalling certain 2025 F-150 trucks. Contact with the engine coolant hose may chafe the engine wire harness or cause a pull out of the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) connector pins, causing the engine to stall. An engine stall increases the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 40 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Vanguard National Trailer Corporation is recalling all 2021-2023 VXP 28-ft., pup trailers. The pintle hook box assembly may crack or break, reducing the trailer's stability while being towed. Trailer instability can cause a loss of control, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 2,192 units are potentially affected by the recall.
