The following safety recalls were issued Monday by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA):
- Battle Motors is recalling certain 2024-2025 Let2 trucks. The steering wheel retaining nut may have been improperly tightened, allowing the steering wheel to loosen and detach from the steering shaft. A loose or detached steering wheel can cause a loss of control, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 34 units are potentially affected by the recall and has issued a "Do Not Drive" warning for those units.
- Ford Motor Company is recalling certain 2022 F-150 Lightning BEV vehicles equipped with 20 in., or 22 in., all-season tires that were repaired incorrectly under recall 22V-453. The tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) light may not illuminate as intended, failing to warn the driver of low tire pressure. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 138, "Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems." Low tire pressure can lead to poor vehicle handling and a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 192 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Ford Motor Company is recalling certain 2025 Transit, F-150, and Explorer vehicles. The connecting rod and rod bearing components may have manufacturing defects that can lead to engine damage and engine failure. A damaged engine can result in engine failure and a stall, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 154 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Forest River Bus is recalling certain 2023-2027 Collins Bus school buses. The lock on the emergency exit door may fail to unlock. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of FMVSS number 217, "Bus Emergency Exits and Window Retention and Release." An emergency exit that remains locked can prevent or delay passengers from evacuating during an emergency, increasing the risk of injury. NHTSA says 2,759 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Forest River Bus is recalling certain 2025 Collins Bus transit buses. NHTSA says 41 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Nova Bus is recalling certain 2022-2023 LFS buses. A digital display firmware error may cause the instrument panel indicator lights to remain solidly illuminated even when the turn signal are off. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of FMVSS number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment." A faulty indictor light, that cannot provide the driver with information about the status of the turn signals, increases the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 43 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Paccar is recalling certain 2024 Peterbilt 367, 2026 Peterbilt 548, 589, and 2024-2026 Peterbilt 567 trucks. The rear brake piping assembly may have insufficient clearance, which can result in a loss of service brakes or anti-lock brake function. Brake failure can increase the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 315 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Shyft Group is recalling certain 2022-2024 Utilimaster Velocity vehicles. The vehicles may be missing the tire and information placard. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of FMVSS number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims." Without the tire size, pressure, and loading information, the vehicle may be overloaded, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 1,977 units are potentially affected by the recall.
