
The following safety recalls were issued Monday by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA):
- Chrysler is recalling certain 2018 Ram 1500, Ram 2500, and Ram 3500 vehicles. The right and left side curtain air bag inflators may rupture due to a manufacturing defect. An inflator rupture may result in sharp metal fragments striking occupants, resulting in injury. NHTSA says 1,761 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) is recalling certain 2025 FCCC XCR, FCCC XBS, FCCC MT45, Western Star 57X, 2025-2026 FCCC MT55, FCCC MT45G, FCCC XCP, FCCC XCM, Freightliner Cascadia, Freightliner Business Class M2, Western Star 49X, Western Star 47X, and 2026 FCCC MT50E vehicles. The brake caliper mounting bolts may loosen and detach, which can cause a loss of brake function and damage the tire and/or wheel. A loss of brake function can increase the risk of a crash. In addition, a damaged wheel or tire can lead to a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 380 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- DTNA is recalling certain 2024-2026 Western Star 47X, Freightliner Business Class M2, FCCC MT55G, 2025-2026 Western Star 49X, Freightliner Cascadia, FCCC MT45G, FCCC S2RV106, 2026 Thomas Built Buses Saf-T-Liner C2, Freightliner eCascadia, and FCCC S2C106 vehicles. The tie rod castle nut and cotter pin may not be installed properly, which can result in a loss of vehicle steering control. A loss of vehicle steering control increases the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 343 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- DTNA is recalling certain Thomas Built Buses 2025-2026 Saf-T-Liner HDX, Saf-T-Liner C2, 2026 Saf-T-Liner EFX, and Saf-T-Liner C2 Jouley school buses. The tie rod castle nut and cotter pin may not be installed properly, which can result in a loss of vehicle steering control. A loss of vehicle steering control increases the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 95 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- DTNA is recalling certain Thomas Built Buses 2025-2026 Saf-T-Liner C2 and Saf-T-Liner C2 Jouley school buses. The brake caliper mounting bolts may loosen and detach, which can cause a loss of brake function and damage the tire and/or wheel. A loss of brake function can increase the risk of a crash. In addition, a damaged wheel or tire can lead to a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 50 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Micro Bird is recalling certain 2023-2025 T- Series, G5, and 2024-2025 MBII school buses equipped with a power-assisted service door. The rod-eye rings attaching the front and rear door panels to the opening gear may delaminate, preventing the door from being controlled by the driver. The door panel may remain in the open position or open unexpectedly, increasing the risk of passenger being injured falling out of the bus. NHTSA says 2,454 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Micro Bird is recalling certain 2023-2025 G5 transit buses equipped with a power-assisted service door. The rod-eye rings attaching the front and rear door panels to the opening gear may delaminate, preventing the door from being controlled by the driver. The door panel may remain in the open position or open unexpectedly, increasing the risk of passenger being injured falling out of the bus. NHTSA says 419 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Orange EV is recalling certain 2017-2024 T-Series, 2023-2025 e-TRIEVER, and HUSK-e terminal trucks. The hazard warning lights may turn off when the ignition is in the 'Off' position. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment." Hazard lights that do not remain on cannot warn other drivers of a disabled vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 1,378 units are potentially affected by the recall.
