
The following safety recalls were issued Monday by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA):
- Corp. Micro Bird is recalling certain 2019, 2021-2026 G5E school buses. The power steering pump may fail to start when the ignition is turned on or may shutdown unexpectedly. A loss of power steering assist can increase the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 486 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Corp. Micro Bird is recalling certain 2018-2019, 2024-2026 G5E transit buses. The power steering pump may fail to start when the ignition is turned on or may shutdown unexpectedly. A loss of power steering assist can increase the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 10 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Spartan Fire is recalling certain 2021-2023, 2025 Spartan Fire Legend, 2007, 2015-2026 Star Series, and 2019-2020 UST Body emergency vehicles. A handle may detach from the ladder lock assembly, allowing the ground ladders to fall off. A detached handle or ladder can become a road hazard for other vehicles, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 311 units are potentially affected by the recall.
