The following safety recalls were issued Monday by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA):
- Altec Industries is recalling certain 2019-2024 AT Series vehicles. The lower emergency stop may not function when the upper control is selected. An emergency stop that does not shut off the unit during an emergency increases the risk of injury. NHTSA says 37 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Chrysler is recalling certain 2025-2026 Ram 1500 Pickup, Ram 2500 Pickup, Ram 3500 Pickup, Ram 3500 Cab Chassis, 4500 Ram Cab Chassis, and Ram 5500 Cab Chassis vehicles. A software error may cause the instrument panel cluster display to be blank. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers (FMVSS) 135, "Light Vehicle Brake Systems," 105, "Hydraulic and Electric Brake Systems," and 102, "Transmission shift lever sequence, starter interlock, and transmission braking effect." An instrument panel display that does not show critical information, such as warning lights or gear selection, increases the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 72,509 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Chrysler is recalling certain 2019 Ram 1500 Classic, Ram 3500, and 2019-2020 Ram 2500 vehicles. The right and left side curtain air bag inflators may rupture due to a manufacturing defect. An inflator rupture may result in sharp metal fragments striking occupants, resulting in injury. NHTSA says 1,879 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- General Motors is recalling certain 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, 2500, and 3500 vehicles. These vehicles may not have received an owner's manual during production. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of FMVSS number 225, “Child Restraint Anchorage Systems.” Without an owner's manual to consult, owners may not know how to safely use and operate the vehicle, increasing the risk of injury in a crash. NHTSA says 3,408 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- International Motors is recalling certain 2016-2023 Lonestar, 2018 8600, 2018-2023 LT, 2021-2026 MV, 2022-2023 RH, 2023-2026 HX, and 2025-2026 HV vehicles. Electrical noise and low signal to the power line carrier may cause the ECU to incorrectly process commands or stop working. Safety systems that depend on the ECU, such as Automatic Traction Control, ABS, Electronic Stability Control, Active Cruise Control, and Collison Mitigation System, may have diminished or lost functionality, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 678 units are potentially affected by the recall.
