The following safety recalls were issued Monday by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA):
- Ford Motor Company is recalling certain 2021 E-350 and E-450 vehicles that received an incomplete software update under recall 20V795. The engine cover may become excessively hot. Direct contact with certain areas of engine cover surface in the passenger compartment may increase the risk of injury or burns to the skin of the driver or front seat passenger. NHTSA says 7,046 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- International Motors is recalling certain 2023-2026 LT and 2024-2025 RH trucks. The Hill Start Assist (HSA) exhaust port may become clogged, delaying or preventing the release of the service brakes. Brakes that are still engaged while driving increase the risk of crash. NHTSA says 1,303 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- International Motors is recalling certain 2023-2027 IC Bus CESB school buses. While carrying the maximum number of occupants, the bus may exceed Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) when the fuel tank and fluid reservoirs are full. An incorrect GVWR may lead to unintentionally overloading the bus, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 142 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- McNeilus Truck & Manufacturing is recalling certain 2024-2025 Volterra ZSL side loader garbage trucks. A software error may cause the grabber fingers to move without input from the operator. Grabber fingers that unintentionally moves may strike a person or vehicle next to the truck, increasing the risk of injury or a crash. NHTSA says 139 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Paccar is recalling certain 2026 Peterbilt 567 and 589 trucks. The air tanks have an insufficient volume of air for the brake system. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 121, "Air Brake Systems." Insufficient air volume can reduce braking performance and increase the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 62 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Thor Motor Coach is recalling certain 2023-2024 Twist, Dazzle, 2023 Tranquility, Sanctuary, 2022-2024 Tellaro, Sequence, and 2024 Freedom Elite Van recreational vehicles. The solar panel mounting brackets may become loose or break allowing the solar panel to detach. A detached solar can become a road hazard for other vehicles and increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 4,491 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Thor Motor Coach is recalling certain 2024 Twist, 2023-2024 Dazzle, Scope, Rize, Sequence, and 2022-2024 Tellaro recreational vehicles. The adhesive securing the solar panels to the roof may fail, allowing the solar panel to detach. A detached solar panel can become a road hazard for other vehicles, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 1,887 units are potentially affected by the recall.
