The following safety recalls were issued Monday by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA):
- Blue Bird Body Company is recalling certain 2021-2024 and 2026-2027 Vision School Bus (Electric), and 2023-2027 Vision School Buses. The 12V power wire on one of the harnesses may become damaged and short circuit. An electrical short can cause a disruption to safety functions such as a loss of rear lighting or instrument panel warning lights, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 18,248 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Daimler Trucks North America, LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain 2024-2027 Thomas Built Buses Saf-T-Liner C2 school buses. The fuel tank cage material and fuel system mounting may be incompatible. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 301, "Fuel System Integrity." During a crash, an incompatible fuel tank cage and fuel system may result in a fuel leak, increasing the risk of a fire. NHTSA says 22,778 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- DTNA is recalling certain 2024-2027 Thomas Built Buses Saf-T-Liner C2 transit buses. The fuel tank cage material and fuel system mounting may be incompatible. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of FMVSS number 301, "Fuel System Integrity." During a crash, an incompatible fuel tank cage and fuel system may result in a fuel leak, increasing the risk of a fire. NHTSA says 160 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- International Motors is recalling certain 2027 HV, HX, LT, MV, and RH trucks. A retaining nut in the wiper assembly may loosen, causing both windshield wipers to disconnect from the motor. Inoperative windshield wipers can reduce the driver's visibility, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 49 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Mack Trucks is recalling certain 2027 Anthem AN (4) and Pioneer PR (4) vehicles. The center roof marker lights may fail to illuminate. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of FMVSS number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment." Marker lights that fail to illuminate can reduce visibility, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 513 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- US Truck Body Co. is recalling certain 2025 Isuzu NPR HD vehicles equipped with Waltco MDV series liftgates. The deck pins may break, causing the liftgate platform to fall. A liftgate that falls unexpectedly increases the risk of injury. NHTSA says 31 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Volvo Trucks North America is recalling certain 2027 VNL (4) and VNR (4) vehicles. NHTSA says 1,851 units are potentially affected by the recall.
