Transwest's Karmak user summit

In partnership with Transwest, Boyer Trucks, and Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA), Karmak recently held a Fusion user Summit at Transwest’s Denver headquarters.

Karmak says more than 40 attendees from nine different dealers across the U.S. and Canada gathered for two days of discussion and interaction aimed at improving efficiencies and providing input around the future of Karmak’s Fusion business system. In addition to the dealers, the team from Karmak â€” which included President and CEO Jim Allen and Vice President of Business Solutions John Cowan â€” were joined by Raj Botla and Marty Kubiak from DTNA, Allen Phibbs and Jeremy Smallwood from KEA Advisors, and representatives from Truckmore (a Karmak company), Avalara Tax Service, and DocStar.

The attendee-driven agenda focused on deep dives into Fusion features and Fusion Report Writer's reporting capabilities, as well as peeks at Fusion’s future, including a live look at Fusion’s soon-to-be-released mobile application. The DTNA team took a look at their current and future integrations and assisted in module-specific breakout sessions for the parts, service, and accounting attendees. The breakout sessions included KEA Advisors focusing on best practices for parts inventory integrity and improving service department throughput.

The Summit kicked off with a casual welcome reception at a local micro-brewery for introductions and networking. The next morning started with an interactive tour through Transwest’s flagship location designed to highlight process efficiencies and spur discussion across all facets of their operations.

The classroom sessions were headlined by George Eidsness, Transwest’s President and CEO, who highlighted the company’s unique growth history, saying, “Through all of the years and all the changes and all of the growth, Karmak has been there with us every step of the way.”

The Karmak SMEs in attendance led most of the classroom and breakout sessions and facilitated discussions around process improvements, Fusion’s product evolution and real-world challenges facing today’s dealers. The agenda also included networking break sessions and a casual group dinner at the Green Valley Ranch Beer Garden.

Karmak’s next customer event is its annual conference, which is slated for October 3-5 in St. Louis. More information can be found here.
