Fullbay's Diesel Connect gets shop owners talking

Updated Jul 6, 2023
A light, bright restaurant full of people. A banner has the Diesel Connect logo and says welcome.

There's more to building a better diesel shop than the latest and greatest technology. Fullbay's first-ever Diesel Connect showed that.

Trucks, Parts, Service was there from start to finish, and here's what we learned.

A great diesel shop means a great team, and building that team takes a lot of work. But one day, as Col. Gregory Gadson says, that team just might save your life.

Diesel shops can help each other through networking, sharing tips and even sharing resources. And through sharing stories, too, like buying an airline seat to get a wire harness to a customer.

Then there's creativity. This California couple made mobile service what they wanted it to be and are raking in the profits.

And it takes good data and forecasting, which has been challenging to say the least in the past few years. But there's some good news. “We’re getting back towards even,” FTR's Jonathan Starks says.

“We are extremely pleased with the turnout and participation at Fullbay’s first Diesel Connect Conference,” says Patrick McKittrick, CEO of Fullbay. “From networking with peers and keynote speakers, to knowledge sharing with industry experts and fellow shop owners, Diesel Connect served as a vehicle to connect the diesel industry in ways that exceeded our expectations. We thank everyone who attended and contributed to the event.”

It went so well, in fact, that Fullbay's looking to do it again next year. Look for an official announcement later this year.
