NTEA has released guidance on rerating commercial vehicle gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) and gross axle weight ratings (GAWRs). NTEA says the published guidance was spurred by industry requests for more information.
The guidance addresses if vehicles can be rerated when in use, how ratings are determined, if axles can be added to increase GVWR and if lowering GVWR is possible. To read the guidance, go to the NTEA website.
