International Motors reported unit sales were down 34% in the fourth quarter, parent company Traton Group announced Tuesday.

Traton reported International sales of 15,800 units in Q4, down from 23,800 units in the same period in 2024. For the year, International 2025 sales were 63,700 units, down 30% year over year after 90,600 units in 2024.

International sales had previously been up 2% year over year through June.

“The U.S. market remained weak in 2025 amid tariff-related uncertainties and an ongoing freight recession, leading to continued caution among truck customers. By contrast, bus unit sales rose strongly,” the company says.

But Traton had success in other markets and, overall, reported global unit sales of 305,500 vehicles in 2025, down 9%. MAN Truck & Bus sales were up 6% last year while Volkswagen Truck & Bus sales were up 1%. Scania sales, however, were down by 8%.
