"To date, we've had more than a dozen conversations with industry representatives working in or near Mexico," says Jennifer McNealy, director of commercial vehicle research analysis and publications. "And while we aren't at liberty to share the names of the companies or their representatives to whom we've spoken, we can share that they include U.S. and Mexican trailer manufacturers, first- and second-tier component suppliers, for-hire fleets and dealers in Mexico."

The report covers trailer-to-truck ratio, imports of used trailers in the Mexican market; characteristics of transportation equipment; lifecycles and equipment recycling; new technologies; spec'ing of equipment; weight overloading practices, road conditions and regulation enforcement; expected growth for 2025; changes since the pandemic; nearshoring, tariffs and trade agreements; using double-trailer configurations; workforce; leasing activities; and seasonal activity.
