The following employment announcements were made in the trucking industry the week of Sept. 8, 2024:
- Britton Smith resigned as president of Blue Bird Corporation effective Sept. 28. He will also step down from the board of directors, effective immediately. Phil Horlock, the company's CEO, will assume the additional role of president.
- Dave Basque is the new interim president and CEO of Myers Industries, replacing Mike McGaugh.
- Jessica Green was promoted to vice president of sales supplier performance in Corcentric's private fleet and carrier division.
- The Supervisory Board of Daimler Truck Holding AG has appointed Karin Rådström as the new CEO on Oct. 1, 2024.
- DTNA has appointed T.J. Reed to the position of president and CEO of Freightliner Custom Chassis Corp and Thomas Built Buses, effective Sept. 9. He succeeds Kevin Bangston, who was recently appointed CEO and president of Daimler Truck Financial Services (DTFS) North America.
- Marc Karon, longtime leader of Total Truck Parts, was honored with the President’s Award at the Commercial Vehicle Solutions Network (CVSN) Summit in Las Vegas. Ryan Bugai of LWK Enterprises, Nick Chelman from DRiV, Adam Pigeon at Royal Truck & Utility Trailer and Bruno Gattamorta with Cojali USA were recognized with the GenNext 4 Under 40 Awards.
