Daimler Truck North America (DTNA) named Rakesh Aneja senior vice president of engineering and technology, the company announced Thursday.

"Engineering excellence has always been at the heart of how we lead this industry — delivering innovation at scale with precision and discipline," says John O'Leary, president and CEO of DTNA. "Rakesh brings the right balance of vision, discipline and operational rigor to the team. His experience, coupled with steadiness, a strategic mindset and technical depth, will strengthen our ability to execute at scale and accelerate the innovations that define our future."

Aneja will succeed Randy DeBortoli who is retiring after more than 33 years with DTNA.

"I want to thank Randy for his dedicated leadership, 33 years of service and the strong engineering culture he helped build," O'Leary says.

Aneja has almost 30 years of engineering and leadership experience across North America and Europe. He was most recently head of corporate development, where he led strategic planning, autonomous technology initiatives, and joint venture development aligned with the company's product and technology priorities.

"We are at an important moment for our industry as technology continues to evolve rapidly and reshape the future of transportation," Aneja says. "I'm honored to step into this role and deeply value the trust and confidence that John and our leadership team have placed in me. DTNA has built a strong engineering culture, backed by high-performing teams across the organization. Our responsibility is not only to advance innovation, but to deliver it at scale with discipline, speed and quality. I'm excited to support our teams as we continue strengthening our capabilities and helping shape the next era of DTNA."
