MAHLE Service Solutions sponsoring heavy-duty A/C clinic

The Mobile Air Conditioning Society (MACS) will hold a Heavy Duty Vehicle A/C Clinic on May 21 at Miramar College in San Diego, sponsored by MAHLE Service Solutions.

According to organizers, the clinic will help service technicians better understand component design and integration, testing and replacement, along with recommended best service practices to get the job done right the first time. In addition, the clinic will include a hands-on demonstration in the afternoon of the MAHLE Service Solutions ArcticPRO ACX1180C and a giveaway of the machine to one lucky technician.

The 1180C is the OEM heavy-duty commercial version of MAHLE’s popular ACX1180, the company says. The ACX1180C features an integrated printer, three temperature sensors, four pressure sensors, a micron sensor providing greater system diagnostic capabilities and is hybrid-certified. Loaded with a 50-lb. internal cylinder and factory-installed heater belt, the ACX1180C produces faster service times and higher service accuracy for heavy-duty OEM-style A/C servicing.

“The A/C market is constantly changing and we are proud to support MACS in its ongoing mission to educate and train the industry,” says Andreas Huber, general manager at MAHLE Service Solutions. “Due to our development of equipment specific to the heavy-duty market, we understand the demands and needs that commercial vehicle technicians face on a daily basis.”

Founded in 1981, MACS is the leading nonprofit trade association for total vehicle climate and thermal management.
