TEC Equipment of Portland is the first Oregon dealer to be a certified EV dealer for Mack and Volvo.
"Oregon is among the first states to commit to adopting similar measures to California's Advanced Clean Trucks rule, and we are now fully ready to support area fleets in achieving their electrification goals," says Grant Small, TEC Equipment vice president of operations, Oregon.
Portland's is the fourth TEC Equipment location to be EV certified. The others are all in California, and one, in Dixon, is working toward becoming part of the Electrified Charging Corridor Project.
"I'm extremely proud of our team in Portland and our other EV-certified locations which have already met the challenge," says TEC Equipment dealer principal Chris Thompson. "We are consistently engaging with customers who are interested in electrification."
The Portland location, 750 NE Columbia Boulevard along the Interstate 5 corridor, has 25 service bays with one of those dedicated to electric vehicles. There are 20 technicians, 11 of whom are master technicians and four are EV-certified. The dealer has more than $3 million in parts inventory and is a Mack Certified Uptime Dealer.
“Mack is pleased that our dealer partner, TEC Equipment, continues to invest in its dealerships in order to support all Mack customers, as well as those that are adding zero-emissions vehicles to their fleets,” says Jonathan Randall, president of Mack Trucks North America. “TEC Equipment is an excellent example of industry players moving toward electrification, and Mack, together with our dealer partners, is at the forefront leading efforts toward sustainable transportation.”
“TEC Equipment continues to be an excellent partner to Volvo Trucks in the introduction of electromobility solutions to heavy-duty fleets operating throughout the West Coast,” adds Peter Voorhoeve, president, Volvo Trucks North America. “We appreciate their ongoing leadership — from the deployment of the first Volvo VNR Electric in North America and the accomplishment of being the first Volvo Trucks Certified EV Dealership in the nation, to now supporting more than a dozen fleets in maintaining their Volvo VNR Electrics and certifying their fourth dealership location in a new state.”
