Denso introduces new heavy-duty alternator

Denso PowerEdge 24PE pad mount alternatorDenso Products and Services Americas announces its new PowerEdge brand of heavy-duty alternators, including the PowerEdge 24PE pad mount alternator, will be available in August.

According to Denso, this 12-volt, 170-amp 24PE alternator meets and exceeds the electrical and performance requirements of today’s heavy-duty trucks and the companies and operators whose business depends on keeping their vehicles in service. The model fits most Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) standard pad mount application and covers nearly all Class 8 vehicles in operation.

“Today’s heavy-duty market demands superior quality, reliability, fuel efficiency and durability, and the 24PE alternator delivers on all fronts,” says Gilbert Ramirez, manager, Denso Heavy Duty Product Planning. “Built with original equipment technology adapted for the aftermarket, this superior product offers the customer every advantage.”

Denso says the 24PE alternator’s best-in-class craftsmanship includes:

  • Superior amp output: The 24PE alternator delivers higher amps at idle and cruise speeds than the competition.
  • Exceptional efficiency: The alternator’s state-of-the-art design requires less engine power, reducing fuel consumption.
  • Remote sense function: Batteries recharge faster after start-up, prolonging battery life and reducing costs.
  • Technology: DENSO’s patented rectangular segment conductor (SC) technology incorporates a square wire copper stator for a compact, lightweight alternator with longer life.
  • All units are 100 percent new with no core charge. The advantages add up to a lower total cost of ownership backed by a one-year/unlimited mileage warranty.

Additionally, the 24PE alternator is among the PowerEdge aftermarket products that pair Denso’s world-class engineering, design and standards with its supply chain partnerships to meet the industry’s growing demand for premium parts at competitive prices. The high-performance PowerEdge line also features the 39PE starter, as well as diesel particulate filters (DPF) and diesel oxidation catalysts (DOC) for capturing and treating tailpipe emissions. With the addition of the 24PE, PowerEdge now offers nearly complete starter and alternator coverage for class 8 trucks, Denso says.
