Nominations for Successful Dealer Award accepted until May 31

Updated Apr 16, 2017

The nomination process is now underway for the fifth annual Successful Dealer Award.

Each year since 2013, when the inaugural award was presented to TEC Equipment, Co., the Successful Dealer Award has garnered more traction and enthusiasm throughout the industry. Dealerships from across the country pride themselves on being nominated as the annual Dealer of the Year.

In 2014, Truck Centers, Inc., took home top honors, while Freightliner of St. Cloud, was the 2015 winner. River States Truck and Trailer was named the 2016 winner.

We are currently accepting submissions for the 2017 Successful Dealer Award, which again will be bestowed at the conclusion at the Great American Trucking Show in Dallas in August.

The award seeks to recognize a dealership/dealership group for exceptional sales and service performance and excellence in community and civic engagement. Each category is weighted differently but it is not solely a sales award, so the smallest volume dealerships have the same opportunity as the largest.

Judging criteria will be based each company’s environmental/green efforts; community involvement and civic responsibility; customer education; staff education and training, and marketing.  It was important to us that this award recognize a well rounded, successful business, not simply a high-performing one.

Our goal with this award – our Successful Dealer Award – is to recognize the dealerships and groups who are succeeding on the truck lots, the service bays and parts counters, but also are leaders in their community; the dealers who put time, effort and dollars into their businesses and employees to make them more efficient; the dealers who realize a $300 donation to their local Dixie Youth program is an investment, not an expense; the dealers that work beyond sales calls to market their services.

The nomination process is fairly simple and it is anonymous, so a dealership’s marketing person or another employee can nominate their employer and you won’t have to deal with the jeers of having “nominated yourself.” Part of our judging criteria is centered on being a good place to work. If employees want to nominate their business on those grounds, we certainly welcome that. Our judging criteria is rigorous enough so that the highest merit will rise to the top regardless of who sends in the nomination.

We have also given the opportunity to many of our fleet contacts (your customers) to nominate their favorite dealers.

The form will ask all submitters for their information, but that is for internal use only; in the event we need to follow up for additional information.
