Approximately 150 industry professionals, local business owners and curious members of the community converged on Dunlop Truck Centre last for its Customer Appreciation Day BBQ at its Medicine Hat, Alberta facility.
The event was a way for the truck dealer to say thank you for 13 years of continued support. It was also a fundraiser for the YMCA of Medicine Hat in support of its 2018 Strong Kids Campaign. A total of $825 was raised through the sales of 50/50 tickets.
In addition, Dunlop Truck Centre later presented the YMCA with a $500 donation. These funds will help families in Medicine Hat send their kids to camp, the company says.
“Thank you to Dunlop Truck Centre for their recent donation of $500 and support through 50/50 sales at the Customer Appreciation Day to the YMCA of Medicine Hat Strong Kids Campaign,” says Helene Nicholson, philanthropy director at the YMCA of Medicine Hat.
“The Strong Kids Campaign provides financial assistance for anyone facing barriers that make paying regular membership or program fees a challenge. Through donations to the Strong Kids Campaign opportunities are provided for kids to experience a week-long camp, such as the YMCA Day Camp, YMCA Elkwater Overnight Camp or YMCA Swim Lesson Camp.”
At the barbecue, Dunlop states it also gave away the following door prizes: a fully stocked beer fridge, a golf package and an oil change package.
“We would like to thank all who attended, including Darryl Hanlon who won the 50/50 pot and generously donated his winnings back to the YMCA,” says Doug Rue, parts manager for Dunlop Truck Centres – Medicine Hat.
