Kenworth offers purchase program for government cooperative

02 13 19 kenworth 300x169Kenworth Truck Company announced Wednesday it is offering a government purchase and pricing program for the Sourcewell Cooperative in 2019.

Sourcewell, formerly known as NJPA, creates national cooperative contract purchasing solutions on behalf of its member agencies, which include government, education and non-profit agencies. Kenworth states cooperative contract use is a growing trend for governmental purchases thanks to its competitively awarded contracts, simple process, and time and money saving benefits.

This year’s program with Kenworth expands sales opportunities for new Kenworth Class 6, 7 and 8 chassis to more than 50,000 Sourcewell members throughout the United States and Canada.

As part of the Sourcewell bid process, responses from truck manufacturing and supply companies are evaluated against multiple criteria to assure member agencies get the best value when making purchase decisions, Kenworth says. The criteria includes considerations such as variety of products and services offered, marketplace success, pricing, and value added attributes.

“Government agencies and municipalities have an excellent opportunity to purchase Kenworth’s full lineup of heavy and medium duty trucks through this joint effort with Sourcewell,” says Kurt Swihart, Kenworth marketing director.

Kenworth says Sourcewell member agencies interested in purchasing Kenworth trucks may contact their nearest Kenworth dealer. The Kenworth contract with Sourcewell for all Kenworth dealers is in effect until Nov. 15, 2020, the company adds.
