River States helps raise more than $38,000 for hunger task force

River States Truck and Trailer in La Crosse, Wis., recently hosted a drive-thru Chicken Que to help raise money to benefit the Hunger Task Force of La Crosse, an organization that collects and distributes food to over 80 meal sites, shelters, food pantries, youth programs and outreach sites in La Crosse and neighboring communities.

River States purchased over 500 chicken dinners from Rooster Andy’s Catering to be given away at the event and all donations collected were matched by River States dollar-for-dollar. The two and a half hour event netted drive-thru donations of over $9,500.00.

Additionally, total donations collected at the event and the matching donation from River States were combined with an additional match by Firefighter’s Credit Union, totaling a contribution of over $38,000 to be presented to the Hunger Task Force of La Crosse.
