Eaton has launched a rebuilder program that will give credentialed independent aftermarket providers an opportunity to rebuild and sell a differentiated choice for Eaton’s lineup of heavy-duty transmissions.
The new initiative also gives fleets and independent drivers the option to purchase locally rebuilt transmissions with 100 percent genuine Eaton components that meet all of Eaton’s re-use and rebuild requirements.
To date, three providers have been named Eaton Authorized Rebuilders; Power Train, Indianapolis, Ind.; TransAxle, Cinnaminson, N.J.; and Valley Truck Parts, Grand Rapids, Mich. Power Train has 12 locations in Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio. TransAxle has 23 locations on the east coast, and Valley Truck Parts has five locations in Michigan and five distribution centers throughout North America.
“Each of these companies was carefully selected based on their commitment to customer satisfaction and their ability to provide value to our mutual customers,” Bill Fouch, Eaton’s NAFTA aftermarket marketing manager, says.
To be recognized as an Eaton Authorized Rebuilder, staff at the three locations will be required to take Eaton’s technical and sales training, meet Eaton’s re-use and rebuild criteria and must use 100 percent genuine Eaton content for all of the transmissions rebuilt as part of the program.
“This program, and the technological expertise that comes with it, will go a long way in allowing us to better service all of our customers, while also working with what we believe are the highest quality transmissions in the truck industry,” Joe Leffel, president of Power Train, says.
“We believe the combination of Eaton’s technical knowledge and our geographical footprint and excellent reputation for taking care of the customer will provide our mutual customers with an even higher level of service,” said David Olsen, chief executive officer for TransAxle.
“Eaton is a major industry leader in transmissions and other components,” said Gary Troost, general manager for Valley Truck Parts. “Being associated with them will certainly set us apart from our competition.”
Eaton will provide the program participants with enhanced warranty coverage, and marketing support, including signage and tags for the rebuilt units, promotional materials, and advertising support.
