A new app, available now on Google Play, brings the power of GPSTrackIt’s vehicle tracking software to the fleet manager in the field. The new app enables fleet managers to view their vehicle tracking information on their Android phones and tablets.
The Android app is the latest offering from GPSTrackIt in its growing line of mobile technology solutions. It joins the recently released iPhone app (available from Apple’s App Store).
“It gives fleet managers and dispatchers a portable window through which they can monitor their fleets,” said Eddie Bermudez, GPSTrackIt’s Product Manager. “We introduced this technology with the iPhone app, which has already been downloaded hundreds of times. Our Android app brings this functionality to a whole new audience.”
As more and more resources are deployed into the field, the need for effective tools to manage them is growing.
“I am excited that we have released an app that not only helps fleet managers manage their employees, but also gives them easy access to support them from wherever they are,” added Bermudez.
The new app provides the same access to the powerful features of the Fleet Manager system as the iPhone app. A mobile user can display vehicle trails and event history (ignition, vehicle starts/stops, etc.). Alerts can be created for a wide variety of applications, including speeding and idling, as well as maintenance items, via email or SMS text messages. Drivers can be sent directions to further help reduce fuel waste.
The new Android app is available for free to users of GPSTrackIt’s Fleet Manager vehicle tracking system. Current subscribers include 1000s of small service businesses, government agencies, and construction companies.
