Bendix updating its executive board

BendixBendix Commercial Vehicle Systems LLC announces it will transition from its two-person executive board – Bendix’s current corporate governance structure – to a three-person board as it continues its growth and expansion.

As part of the transition, Chairman, President and CEO Joe McAleese will step fully into the chairman’s role he has held since 2014, and in 2015 Bendix will name a new president and CEO. The new three-person board will consist of McAleese, Chief Operating Officer Carlos Hungria, and the incoming president and CEO.

McAleese has been with Bendix for more than 30 years and was named president in 2002. He added the title of CEO in 2003. McAleese has also served the commercial vehicle industry in leadership roles with the Motor Equipment Manufacturers Association (MEMA), the Heavy Duty Manufacturers Association (HDMA), and Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week (HDAW).

Hungria has served as chief operating officer at Bendix since 2012, joining the company after an accomplished 30-year career as a part of the Volvo organization.

Bendix has been a member of the Munich, Germany-based Knorr-Bremse Group since 2002. Knorr-Bremse is the leading worldwide supplier of pneumatic braking and related safety systems for commercial vehicle and railroad applications.
