For the second consecutive year, Grote Industries earns the bronze medal in our top new products countdown. Like last year, this year's product announcement is tied to the company's popular new 4SEE smart trailer safety system — specifically, the new rear-view camera feature added to the product. This is the fourth time Grote has participated in our countdown. The company also had our top product in 2017 and was ninth in 2014.
Grote says the wired rear-view camera, released in October, is connected through the standard J560 seven-way connector. Video from the back of the trailer displays in the cab with virtually no latency, and the 4SEE Smart Trailer System integrates smart technology and connects all the modules on the trailer via a 4SEE Digital Harness. Grote adds the nose box integrates all of the component data from the trailer, allowing it to be transmitted directly to the driver, cloud or third-party telematics provider.
