The following safety recalls were issued Monday by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA):
- Alliance RV is recalling certain 2024-2025 Paradigm 295MK, 310RL, 340RL, 370FB, 375RD, 380MP, 382RK, 385FL, and 395DS fifth wheels. The 7-way electrical connection to the brake actuator may have been mis-wired, which can prevent the brakes from engaging if the tow vehicle detaches. Brakes that fail to engage when a tow vehicle detaches increases the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 154 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Alliance RV is recalling certain 2024-2025 Alliance Valor 31T13 travel trailers. The front bathroom may be missing the Ground Fault Interrupter (GFI) and may not be connected to the GFI circuit. A bathroom electrical outlet that is missing GFI protection can result in electrical shock, increasing the risk of injury. NHTSA says 64 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Freightliner 108SD, 2022-2025 Freightliner 114SD, Freightliner Business Class M2, 2025 Freightliner eM2, 2020-2025 Western Star 49X, 2021-2025 Western Star 47X, and 2022-2025 Western Star 57X vehicles that may be upfitted with a body lighting interface controller and replacement brake lights. The brake lights may not illuminate when the brakes are automatically applied during an active brake assist (ABA) event. Brake lights that fail to illuminate can fail to indicate to other drivers that the vehicle is slowing down, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 16,889 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- General Motors is recalling certain 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, GMC Sierra 1500, 2023-2024 Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban, GMC Yukon, Yukon XL, Cadillac Escalade, and Escalade ESV vehicles. The electronic brake control module software may fail to display a warning light when a loss of brake fluid occurs. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 135, "Light Vehicle Brake Systems." Without a warning light, the vehicle may be driven with low brake fluid, which can reduce braking performance and increase the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 449,671 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Multiquip is recalling certain 2024 WTE5C and WTE5HP trailers. The trailer brakes may engage unexpectedly or fail to engage when the turn signal is activated, due to wiring that is incorrectly connected between the turn signal and electric brakes. As such, these trailers fail to comply with the requirements of FMVSS number 105, "Hydraulic and Electric Brake Systems" and 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment." Brakes that fail to engage when applied or unexpected brake engagement while driving increases the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 43 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Thor Motor Coach is recalling certain 2024 Palladium and Talavera motorhomes. The liquid propane (LP) tank is located too close to the chassis exhaust, which can allow the tank to overheat. An LP tank that overheats can increase the risk of a fire. NHTSA says 17 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Tiffin Motorhomes is recalling certain 2022-2025 Allegro Bay motorhomes. The subframe truss may collapse and pinch the electrical wiring, causing an electrical arc. Electrical arcing increases the risk of a fire. NHTSA says 400 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Trail King Industries is recalling certain 2019-2020 TKHDG Paver Special trailers. The gooseneck lift lower cylinder mount may fatigue and crack, which can cause the trailer to drop suddenly during the loading or unloading process. A trailer that suddenly drops to the ground during loading or unloading increases the risk of injury. NHTSA says 39 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Volvo Trucks North America is recalling certain 2025 VN and VHD trucks. The wheel lug nuts may be improperly tightened. Improperly tightened lug nuts can allow the wheel to detach, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 156 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Winnebago Industries is recalling certain 2025 Winnebago View, Navion, and 2024-2025 Ekko recreational vehicles equipped with certain GE air conditioners. The air conditioner soft start device may fail and overheat. An air conditioner soft start device that overheats increases the risk of a fire. NHTSA says 840 units are potentially affected by the recall.
