The following safety recalls were issued Monday by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA):
- Forest River is recalling certain 2009-2017 Georgetown Class A motorhomes. The amber turn signal lens has an undersized reflective surface. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment." Inadequately reflective turn signals can make it difficult for other drivers to see when the vehicle intends to turn, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 6,963 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Forest River is recalling certain 2024-2025 Clipper and Viking travel trailers. Please see the recall report for a complete list of models. The bottle bracket welds may break and cause the propane tank to detach from the vehicle. A detached propane tank may become a road hazard and increase the risk of a crash. A detached propane tank may become a road hazard and increase the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 864 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Paccar is recalling certain 2021-2025 Peterbilt and Kenworth vehicles, equipped with Bendix EC80 Advanced Electronic Control Units (ECU). Please see the recall report for a complete list of models. Electrical noise and low signal to the power line carrier may cause the ECU to incorrectly process commands or stop functioning. Safety systems that depend on the ECU (Automatic Traction Control, ABS, Electronic Stability Control, Active Cruise Control, and Collision Mitigation System) may not function properly or at all, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 220,972 units are potentially affected by the recall.
