Safety Recalls

The following safety recalls were issued Monday by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA):

  • Blue Bird Bus Company is recalling certain 2022-2024 Vision electric school buses equipped with hydraulic brakes. The system software may fail to detect and alert the driver to a loss of the secondary brake assist. Driving the bus without a functioning secondary brake assist increases the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 163 units are potentially affected by the recall.
  • Chrysler is recalling certain 2025 Ram 1500 vehicles. A software error may cause an incorrect tire inflation pressure message to display on the instrument panel. An incorrect tire pressure message may result in improperly inflated tires, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 10,396 units are potentially affected by the recall.
  • Ford Motor Company is recalling certain 2022-2023 Transit vehicles previously repaired incorrectly under recall number 23V-598. The rearview camera, or 360-degree view camera if equipped, may not display a rearview image when the vehicle is placed in reverse. Loss of the rearview camera image can reduce the driver's rear visibility, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 4,625 units are potentially affected by the recall.
  • Ford Motor Company is recalling certain 2024-2025 E-Transit Chassis Cab vehicles. The tray side rails for the high voltage battery pack may buckle and crack, allowing water to enter the battery. Water inside a high voltage battery can cause an electrical short circuit, increasing the risk of a fire. NHTSA says 457 units are potentially affected by the recall.
  • Forest River is recalling certain 2024-2025 Coachmen Catalina, Forest River Aurora, Cascade, Cedar Creek, Cherokee, Sandpiper, Sierra, 2025 Campsite Reserve, Impression, Pause, Puma, Sabre, Salem, Vengeance, and Wildwood fifth wheel and travel trailers, equipped with a removable step assembly. The clip-on bracket mounting bolts may come loose, allowing the steps to detach. Steps that detach while in use increase the risk of injury. NHTSA says 4,270 units are potentially affected by the recall.
  • Forest River is recalling certain Coachmen Catalina BCAT154RBX travel trailers. The wastewater holding tank pipe may not extend to the exterior of the vehicle, allowing sewer gas to enter the cabin. Sewer gas inside the cabin increases the risk of injury. NHTSA says 27 units are potentially affected by the recall.
  • Forest River is recalling certain 2025 Coachmen Brookstone BKF398MBL fifth wheels. The wastewater holding tank pipe may not extend to the exterior of the vehicle, allowing sewer gas to enter the cabin. Sewer gas inside the cabin increases the risk of injury. NHTSA says 23 units are potentially affected by the recall.
  • Jayco is recalling certain 2025 Entegra Aspire, 2025-2026 Entegra Anthem, and Cornerstone motorhomes. The fuel filter housing may become damaged from contact with the rear cap support bracket, causing a fuel leak. A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire. NHTSA says 34 units are potentially affected by the recall.
  • Oshkosh Corporation is recalling certain 2024-2025 S-Series vehicles. The front axle housing wall thickness may not be sufficient and can cause the axle to fail. Front axle failure can cause a sudden loss of vehicle handling and control, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 469 units are potentially affected by the recall.
  • Prevost Car is recalling certain 2025 Prevost H3-45 and X3-45 motorcoaches. The release mechanism on the emergency exit windows may be difficult to open in an emergency situation. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 217, "Bus Emergency Exits and Window Retention and Release." Emergency exits that are difficult to open can prevent or delay passengers from exiting during an emergency, increasing their risk of injury. NHTSA says 15 units are potentially affected by the recall.
