The following safety recalls were issued Monday by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA):

  • Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) is recalling certain 2023-2027 Thomas Built SAF-T-LINER C2 Jouley, 2025-2027 Thomas Built SAF-T-LINER C2, 2026-2027 Thomas Built SAF-T-LINER HDX2, and Thomas Built SAF-T-LINER EFX2 school buses. The wheelhouse body interior joints may have been manufactured incorrectly, resulting in insufficient joint strength. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 221, "School Bus Body Joint Strength." A school bus with insufficient joint strength may not adequately protect passengers in a crash, increasing the risk of injury. NHTSA says 13,593 vunits are potentially affected by the recall.
  • Ford Motor Company is recalling certain 2026-2027 F-150, 2026 F-250 SD, F-350 SD, and F-450 SD vehicles. The left-side tailgate cable may fail under certain heavy load conditions. Tailgate cable failure may allow the tailgate to drop onto the rear bumper, increasing the risk of injury. NHTSA says 30,123 units are potentially affected by the recall.
  • Forest River Bus is recalling certain transit buses. Please see above for a complete list of makes and models. The steering caster bushing may have been improperly tightened allowing the bolt to come loose. A loose caster bolt can cause a loss of steering ability, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 490 units are potentially affected by the recall.
  • Great Dane Trailers is recalling certain 2027 Champion and Everest van trailers. The trailer landing gear k-brace welds may fail, resulting in the landing gear collapsing. A trailer landing gear that collapses increases the risk of injury. NHTSA says 6,810 units are potentially affected by the recall.
  • Nova Bus is recalling certain 2022-2024 LFS and 2023 LFS Artic transit buses. The remote fuel filter hoses may separate from the fitting, causing a fuel leak and an engine stall. A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire. An engine stall increases the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 453 units are potentially affected by the recall.
  • Paccar is recalling certain 2022-2023 Kenworth T370, T270, 2022-2027 Kenworth T280, Peterbilt 548, 2023-2027 Kenworth T480, T380, Peterbilt 536, 537, and 2025 Peterbilt 567 vehicles. The remote fuel filter hoses may separate from the fitting, causing a fuel leak and an engine stall. A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire. An engine stall increases the risk of a crash.  NHTSA says 26,729 units are potentially affected by the recall.
  • Wabash National Corporation is recalling certain 2027 Van Trailers. Incorrect wheel bearing lubricant may cause the wheel end to seize, which can result in wheel lock-up. Wheel lock-up can result in a loss of vehicle handling and control, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 475 units are potentially affected by the recall.
