Mack Trucks started production on the all-new Anthem at its Lehigh Valley Operations facility in Pennsylvania, the company said Tuesday.

"The all-new Anthem represents more than a decade of engineering innovation, delivering practical solutions that address the real challenges facing today's regional-haul operations," says Jonathan Randall, president of Mack Trucks North America. "From rising operational costs to driver recruitment challenges, we designed the Anthem from the ground up to help our customers succeed."

Mack invested $405 million to prepare for the new truck. It is available for order at Mack dealers nationwide and customers can explore the new model online through the Mack Live Tour and Truck Builder features.

Features of the Anthem include:

  • A shorter bumper to back of cab length of 113.5 inches, making it ideal for navigating tight spaces and urban environments.
  • A redesigned hood for improved forward visibility.
  • A 10% improvement in fuel efficiency when compared with the previous model.
  • The MP 13 engine with 515 horsepower and 1,950 lb.-ft. of torque and an upgraded mDRIVE automated manual transmission in 12-, 13- and 14-speed configurations and 30% faster shift speeds. The 13-speed Dynamic Overdrive features Economy+, Economy and Performance modes based on driving conditions.
  • Three configurations: Day cab, 44-inch sleeper and 64-inch sleeper. All of them feature a cab that is nine inches wider than the previous model with wide-base seats with optional ventilation, heat and massage.
  • A redesigned suspension that feels more like a car, Mack says, and advanced safety features including Mack Protect driver assistance standard. Front airbags are standard and curtain airbags are optional, as is a digital mirror system.
  • The Mack Integrated Uptime bundle complimentary for five years, including Mack Connect and GuardDog Connect along with the MyMack driver app.
