The fourth quarter was a tough one for North American truck makers.
Daimler Truck announced this week it saw unit sales fall by 5% globally in the fourth quarter and 27% in North America as that segment “continued to be impacted by difficult market conditions.”
The performance was similar to Traton and its North American brand International, which also reported a substantial reduction in fourth quarter sales in 2025.
Daimler Truck North America sold 34,017 units in the fourth quarter of 2025, down from 46,906 the year before. For the entirety of 2025, DTNA sales were 141,814 units, down 26% from 2024’s total of 190,727 units.
Globally, Daimler sales were off 8% year over year, from 460,409 units in 2024 to 422,510 in 2025. Mercedes-Benz trucks were flat, while Trucks Asia and Daimler buses experienced slight increases in sales in 2025.
