Price Digests: Salaries, job seekers and resale truck listings all on the rise

Line of trucks on a summer day

In a new report published Friday, Randall Reilly's Price Digests, a sister company to Trucks, Parts, Service, published data indicated the number of truck listings in the resale channel could rise to as high as 80,000 units by year end.

Price Digests' data indicates the number of listings in the resale channel surpassed 67,000 units in June. Though that was down slightly from May's 69,147, the two months represent the highest totals for the trucking space over the past year.

Price Digests also reports the number of job seekers in the driver space is on the rise and is potentially outpacing the rate of job openings, slightly driving down salaries this summer after more than a year of steady growth.

"The combined impact of an increase in job seekers and rising resale listings may mean that dealers should expect even higher levels of inventory in the months ahead," Price Digests states.
