Rihm Family Companies has been named a Top Company for Women to Work for in Transportation, and a Top Woman-Owned Business by the Women in Trucking Association (WIT). This is the seventh year in a row that Rihm has received these two honors.
Many women say they want employers with a corporate culture supportive of gender diversity, flexible hours and work requirements to accommodate family and life balance, competitive compensation and benefits, training and continued professional development, and career advancement opportunities. Because of this, WIT’s “Top Companies for Women to Work in Transportation” recognition program was launched using these as primary criteria for companies earning the award.
“Many companies in the transportation industry take serious steps to recruit and retain a diverse workforce,” says Brian Everett, on behalf of WIT. “The Women in Trucking Association is pleased to name Rihm Family Companies as a 2024 Top Company for Women to Work in Transportation. Rihm has demonstrated that it places a significant importance on gender diversity as part of its business strategy and is to be commended for the work in diversity that it is doing.”

In addition to the Top Company for Women designation, Rihm also received the Top Woman-Owned Business recognition.
“There is a significant economic impact of woman-owned businesses,” Everett says. “In fact, in the United States alone there are nearly 14 million woman-owned businesses accounting for nearly 40% of all small businesses. These businesses are thriving due to the entrepreneurial strengths and skill sets of these driven women owners. Woman-owned businesses employ millions of people and generate some $2.7 trillion in annual revenue.”
WIT says criteria used to identify qualified applicants for this award include majority ownership by a woman, financial stability and growth, innovation, and entrepreneurial spirit, according to Everett. Companies were nominated and chosen based upon business success and accomplishments including those related to gender diversity.
