American Trucking Associations’ Technology & Maintenance Council has introduced its 2012-2013 Recommended Practices Manual, a wealth of knowledge about maintenance and engineering practices in trucking.
The current edition is a two-volume set that includes TMC’sRecommended Maintenance Practices Manual, featuring maintenance and equipment testing information, and Recommended Engineering Practices Manual, featuring spec’ing, design and construction practices. Comprising more than 2,900 pages, TMC says fleets, service providers and equipment manufacturers depend on the manual when it comes to the purchase, design, maintenance and performance of equipment.
According to TMC, the manual includes the latest recommended practices for:

• Electrical and instruments
• Fleet maintenance management
• Chassis & brake systems
• Cab & controls
• Trailers, bodies & material handling
• Cost control methods
• Energy conservation
• On-board vehicle electronics
