Every Year Truck Technicians spend countless non-productive hours chasing vibrations, shakes, hops, and rattles that annoy the Truck Driver and damage the truck.
The American Council Of Frame and Alignment Specialists (ACOFAS), will conduct a two-day technician education and training clinic on this topic from June 11-12, 2013 in Dallas.
The clinic, “Heavy Duty Chassis Vibration Diagnostics,” will be hosted by Bob Steger, owner of Standard Spring and Axle in Dallas. The classroom portion will be held at the La Quinta Inn & Suites at Love Field in Dallas, and the hands-on portion will take place at Standard Spring and Axle, 2511 Hickory St., Dallas, TX 75226.
ACOFAS says the clinic will focus on vibrations that originate from:
• Wheel Ends
• Tires
• Power Steering Pump. Gear Box, Steering column
• Suspension worn and misalignment of components
• Engine
• Clutch, Flywheel, Transmission
• Drive shafts, angle and balance
• Drive axle angles and gearing
• Frame; shake and hop
In shop demonstrations on proper wheel bearing torque, tire mounting, hub, stud, tire and wheel inspection and balancing will be conducted by Mr. Mark Girdner, field engineer, Michelin American Truck Tire, Inc., ACOFAS says.
