ReMaTec show coming to the U.S.

The Automotive Parts Remanufacturers Association (APRA) and Amsterdam RAI, owners and organizers of ReMaTec, have agreed to organize a new comprehensive show for automotive and heavy duty remanufacturing in the USA.

The first edition will take place in Las Vegas Nov. 1-3, 2014.

The new show, which is named Big R/ReMaTecUSA, is a continuation of the existing partnership between APRA and ReMaTec. The new show has its origins in the International Big R Show, which has been around in Las Vegas for decades, in association with the ReMaTec show based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

The new show will be positioned as an annual kick off for the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Week in Las Vegas and complements the ReMaTec Amsterdam show, which will still take place every odd year.

“Together, over the past 8 years, we have created the premier remanufacturing exhibition in Europe and our combined strengths will now be directed towards the United States, the world’s largest remanufacturing marketplace,” says Nick Staub, the Chairman of APRA in the US. “I’m confident that Big R/ReMaTecUSA will become a vibrant new part of the rapidly growing remanufacturing industry.”

Remanufacturing of engines, transmissions and other automotive parts is among the fastest growing segments within the automotive aftermarket.

According to the United States International Trade Commission (USITC) report, the United States is the largest remanufacturer in the world, and between 2009 and 2011, the value of U.S. remanufactured production grew by 15 percent to at least $43 billion, supporting 180,000 full-time U.S. jobs.
