Harrison Truck Centers expands Western Star reach across network

Unknown 5 300x69Harrison Truck Centers announced this week it has added Western Star operations to all of its Freightliner dealerships in Iowa and Minnesota.

Harrison Truck Centers operates seven Freightliner dealerships in the two states and, until recently, only one of those locations (Des Moines, Iowa) also offered Western Star sales and service. Harrison Truck Centers President and CEO Brian Harrison says the company decided to expand its Western Star capabilities to meet growing customer needs in the region, and will now allow the company to also sell a premium vocational product that can be sold across its dealer network.

“We had been looking at this for quite some time. We have wanted the Western Star product,” he says. “We are a little bit different than most Freightliner dealers because we are heavy on the vocational side with our customer base and Western Star is going to help with that.”

Regarding the expansion, the Harrison Truck Centers facilities in Waterloo, Iowa, and Mankato, Minn., will now offer Western Star sales and service. The facilities in Clear Lake, Iowa, and Fairmont, Marshall and Faribault, Minn., will be Western Star service only.

Harrison says the company is training its technician workforce on the Western Star product, and has created a Western Star-exclusive sales team to best serve the brand.

“We are excited. We are a growing business and are looking for continued expansion opportunities to additional market areas,” Harrison says.
