
MEMA – The Vehicle Suppliers Association, has announced Tim Johnson, director of the Vehicle Research & Test Center at the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), will share a special update at the MEMA’s upcoming safety summit.
The 2026 Commercial Vehicle Safety Summit will be held June 10-11, at the IMMI Conference Center in Westfield, Ind. During his presentation, MEMA says Johnson will share his perspective from NHTSA on commercial vehicle safety today and where it is headed in the future.
Hosted in collaboration with IMMI and CAPE Testing, MEMA states this two-day event combines live demonstrations, expert insight and cross-industry dialogue to explore the technologies, policies and partnerships shaping the future of CV safety.
MEMA says the summit will provide a rare opportunity to witness commercial vehicle safety technologies in action. Agenda highlights include:
- Live crash demonstration illustrating real-world safety dynamics
- Facility tours and product demonstrations showcasing emerging safety technologies
- Direct insights from federal regulators, including an update from Tim Johnson, director, Vehicle Research & Test Center, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), U.S. Department of Transportation
