MacKay & Company planning studies on trailer connections, electrical components

MacKay & Company has released its September 2016 e-newsletter, which features an update on Truckable Economic Activity (TEA) and announces the company will soon begin studies on electrical components and the U.S. trailer connectors market.

Regarding the trailer study, MacKay & Company says it will examine the following components in its research: air hose, air hose fittings, gladhands, gladhand seals, electrical sockets/plugs and electrical cords. The study is in the initial stages, the company says, which allows study participants to get in on the ground level – providing input on survey questions and specifying tailored component research needs.

The electrical components study will explore the current size and forecast of the electronic components aftermarket. The company says the study also will:

  • Quantify in units and revenue dollars the current electronic replacement market
  • Examine failure modes and maintenance practices
  • Assess distribution channels and points of service
  • Identify life cycle differences and similarities

Interested parties reading the e-newsletter also will find a copy of MacKay & Company’s monthly column from the September issue of Truck Parts & Service—this month’s article was written by Lynn Buck—as well as information on upcoming 2017 industry events.
